Texas might be the “Lone Star State” but you should never feel alone when it comes to tax preparation.
With all of the forms, rules, regulations and laws that come with preparing and filing your taxes, things can get confusing real fast.
What form do I need to file? What if I need an extension? When are my taxes due? If you have found yourself asking any of these questions, then we have good news for you. At 1 Stop Financial Service Centers, we aim to take the confusion out of tax preparation by offering top-notch financial services at an affordable rate – so you can prepare your taxes right the first time.
We have 18 offices located throughout the state of Texas, which means we can help you prepare your taxes faster than you can get from San Antonio to Houston (impressive, right? That takes nearly 4 hours!)
What sort of tax preparation services does 1 Stop Financial Service Centers offer?
- Schedule A
- Earned Income Credit Filing
- And more!
What is the difference between a 1040EZ and a 1099 tax form and an Earned Income Credit Filing?
- The 1040EZ is a faster and easier way to file taxes. In order to be eligible for the 1040EZ instead of a 1040, you must make a taxable income of less than $100,000 and possess no dependents.
- Form 1099 is used to report a variety of income sources other than wages, salaries and tips (for those, you would use your W-2 form).
- You may qualify for an Earned Income Credit Filing if you worked over the last year but did not earn a lot of money. When you file, you may be eligible for an Earned Income Tax Credit – a refund—even if you did not have federal taxes withheld.
At 1 Stop Financial Service Centers, we can also help Texas residents with Schedule A, extensions and amendments to their tax preparation forms.
Schedule A is simply an addendum to form 1040 which shows your itemized deductions. Filing this correctly will help you maximize your tax return and determine the estimated amount of taxes due.
Amendments and extensions have to do with your tax returns. If you find that you are not able to file your tax return by the April 15 due date, you may request a 6-month extension. We can help you fill out the form and return it to the IRS in time to get your extension. Additionally, we are also able to help you with any amendments – changes to any information that will alter your tax calculations – that you find you need to file with the IRS.
Worried about the cost? At 1 Stop Financial Service Centers, we take care of our Texas clients when it comes to tax preparation. We do 1040EZs for free and our fees start as low as $35 for all other services.
